Hi there! I am Yi-Yun (Athena) Chu 朱乙勻, a PhD student in Information Systems at Heinz College, Carnegie Mellon University. My research sits at the intersection of technology, business, and policy, and focuses on understanding how AI-driven signals on digital platforms shape trust, learning, and market outcomes. Methodologically, I work with causal inference, multimodal machine learning, and large-scale observational and experimental data, with applications spanning online education, digital markets, and algorithmic governance.
Prior to Ph.D., I obtained a dual Bachelor’s degree in Advertising and International Business from National Chengchi University (NCCU) and a Master’s degree in Management of Information Systems and Digital Innovation from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Throughout my academic training, a central theme of my work has been the interaction between technical systems and human behavior, particularly how design choices in platforms and algorithms translate into real economic and societal consequences.
Open to collaboration and discussion, please feel free to reach out via email.
Methodology: Causal Inference, Econometrics, Machine Learning, Multimodal Video Analytics, Natural Language Processing, Agentic Modeling
